Character reward day!

Stewart School students have earned their beach party reward day!  Beach Day will be on Friday, February 3rd.  Students can dress for the beach, swim suits aren't recommended, but we would love to see lots of Summer bright colors! Beach towels are welcome and students will have a picnic style lunch on the floor on Friday!
Awesome job, Stewart students!!!

Happy 100th day of school!

During our 100th day snack we used ten frames to count out 100 pieces of snack. It took awhile, however, we enjoyed eating our snack once we counted all of it!
We made the number 100 with our bodies and our mouth (just backwards ;-)

Happy 100th day of school!

We loved making our 100 days smarter crowns today.
We learned many different ways to make 100 with our bodies.  We are showing how to make 100 with our fingers and mouth in this picture.

Animal tracks in the snow!

Today, we took a field trip on a bus inside our school with Ms. Holz!  Since, there is no snow outside we brought the snow inside our classroom.  We got to observe and discuss what different animal tracks would look like and the stories that those tracks tell us.  What had a great time on our field trip and hope to find animal tracks outside to be able to tell more animal stories!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2017!  We enjoyed wearing some party hats to ring in the new year.  We are working on writing our goals for 2017 and those will be displayed in the hallway, so please if you have a chance, stop by to read what we would like to accomplish this year.
In Math, we are learning about comparing numbers and knowing which number is more than or less than, while learning how to use those symbols in our number equations (<,>, =).
During reading time, we have been discussing the different seasons and what happens outside during those seasons, while thinking about how that affects what we get to do outside. We have finished learning all of our letters and sounds and are now moving on to digraphs (Ch, Sh, Th, Ou, Ar, etc.)! We will also begin learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the amazing life lessons he has taught the people in our nation.
