Ms. Holz also visited our classroom today and we made some special animal feeders, it was a lot of fun.  Please put these outside for animals to feed on during this very cold week!

Walking in our wooden shoes from Holland!

Walking in our wooden shoes from Holland!

Walking in our wooden shoes from Holland!

Our Elf Chippy and our journey to Holland!

Hello everyone! I would like to introduce you to our Elf, Chippy.  The kids named him and are so excited to see where he is and what he is up to everyday in our classroom.  He is full of Christmas magic and so no kids can touch him (or he looses his magic), and if we are making good choices he flies to tell Santa every night and lands somewhere new in our classroom!  Check back often to see what Chippy is up to in our classroom!
In our Holidays Around the World unit we learned all about Holland today.  One custom in Holland is the families like to wear their wooden shoes around the Holidays.  We each had a chance to try on a real pair of decorative wooden shoes and try to walk in them.  Most all of the students decided that the wooden shoes wouldn't be something they would want to wear everyday!

Guidance with Mrs. Knowles

We love our Guidance time on Wednesdays with Mrs. Knowles!  Today, we discussed things that "bug" or bother us and how to solve a situation.  We learned how to use the 4 steps to solve a problem or situation.
1. State the person's name 2. Tell them how it made you feel 3. Please stop  4. Close the "book" (situation) and put it away (moving on).
