Guidance with Mrs. Knowles

We love our Guidance time on Wednesdays with Mrs. Knowles!  Today, we discussed things that "bug" or bother us and how to solve a situation.  We learned how to use the 4 steps to solve a problem or situation.
1. State the person's name 2. Tell them how it made you feel 3. Please stop  4. Close the "book" (situation) and put it away (moving on).

Fire Safety Day!

Learning about how smoke rises and to never open a door if it feels hot!
A fireman showing us what some of the firefighters gear looks like so we aren't scared of firefighters if they ever need to come to help us.
Listening to why it is important to stop, drop, and roll if our clothes catch fire!
Going through the smoke house
We loved getting to see a real firetruck and all of its cool parts!
Thank you to the Washington Fire Department for taking the time and teaching us all about fire safety, we had a great morning learning from you!!!

Our adopted tree

We chose our adopted tree during science time today.  We observed and discussed the parts of the tree and what we noticed about the tree: size, shape, colors.  We will be observing this tree throughout the entire school year and documenting the changes over time in our journals.
